Cars: A hell of an accident

We’ve heard that some watch NASCAR races just for the accidents. Well here’s one to watch - Michael McDowell’s accident at the Texas Qualifying last Friday.

This is probably one of the worst NASCAR accidents we’ve seen ever, 185 - 190 miles on impact, flying through the air and then rolling across the track for a few hundred yards. The car looks like it went through the shredder and then - the guy just walks away.

Land Rover get’s your Chelsea tractor carbon-neutral

Land Rover has today announced the first projects in its CO2 Offset Program to reduce greenhouse gases with projects in Tajikistan and China. The first projects include a hydro-electric power plant in Tajikistan and a wind farm in China. Together these projects will offset 150,000 tons of CO2 a year. Further projects in Uganda, India, Turkey and the Dominican Republic are currently evaluated. Customers of all new Land Rover vehicles sold in the UK from this year on will pay…

Ever wondered how it would feel to drive around in Batman’s car. Well now you’ve got a chance to find out. One of the 1960s Batmobile created to promote the original Batman TV show is to be auctioned this month in London. The superhero’s car, said to be the sixth produced, is expected to sell for more than GBP75,000 (USD187,000) at Coys Spring Classics auction on February 27. Environment: Yahoo! Auto starts green center

Today Yahoo Auto has launched a new section devoted to alternative-fuel vehicles.
