Design: Catch-22 50th Anniversary Amination

An animation created by illustrator and animator Ian Higginbotham for Random House to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Catch-22 – Joseph Heller’s epic novel.
Ian, who currently lives in NYC, has previously worked with companies like Random House, Titmouse, Blue Sky Studios, Kill Screen, Time Out and millions are greeted everyday by his drawings when opening the Vimeo homepage. His Catch-22 short won a gold medal in the “Moving Image” category of the 2011 Society of Illustrators competition….

Games: Kara becoming self-aware

To demonstrate how different emotions can be expressed with PS3 graphics Quantic Dream created a short film about a self-aware robot.
Kara as the robot / android and the short film is called certainly gives us an idea what soon will become possible – how subtle emotions and moves of game actors can be tuned.
“Listen to David Cage”, co-founder of Quantic Dream and director on his intentions, what they wanted to demonstrate with this short film and how they arrived there with their experiences from Heavy Rain.
