US removes Nelson Mandela from terror list
Just in time for his 90th birthday this month the USA has removed former South African President and Nobel Peace Price laureate Nelson Mandela from the so called “US terrorists watch list”. After the bill had been approved by the US Senate, G.W Bush has now signed it and by that bringing an end to at least one of the most visible quarrels beleaguering this “list” since a long time.
“…Today the United States moved closer at last to removing the great shame of dishonoring this great leader by including him on our government’s terror watch list…” said Senator John Kerry.
Previously Nelson Mandela like other former ANC freedom fighters required…

NZ Boat Earthrace takes new world record for circumnavigation
This Friday at 14:24 CET when crossing the finishing line in Sagunto, Spain New Zealand’s Eco-Diesel boat “Earthrace” set a new world record for circumnavigation with powerboats.
With the new record time of 60 days, 23h:49min skipper Pete Bethune and his crew have shaved off almost 14 days from the previous record set by the British “Cable & Wireless” in 1998. Then what would you expect German TV to do – interview some players, the coach, your grand uncle who knows everything about soccer – NO WAY!
They go straight ahead for some political schmoozing and…

Humor: A new German Flag
After we reported last week that Swiss TV has used the “Nazi-Germany Anthem” during the Euro 2008 football championship, we thought it would be just fair to inform you on another slip during the event – this time by German State TV ARD…

Books: Self Diagnosis for Hypochondriacs
While for many Hypochondriacs the Merck Manual of Medical Information might be a bit like a bible for daily / nightly reference, there are other books that help to fulfill the information needs (attention: could already be part of a disease pattern) of Hypochondriacs.
Some take an unusual and in-depth look in scary, unusual and horrible diseases in a slightly humorous way like “The Hypochondriac’s Pocket Guide to Horrible Diseases You Probably Already Have” and others provide general information on diseases.
In difference to these books “The Manual of things that might kill you” is written specifically to address…
