Time Magazine: Year in pictures is currently available online for the years 2002 – 2005. Each of the photo slide shows contains the best images of the year selected by Time Magazine with summary text for each picture.
World Press Photo of the Year
World Press Photo is an independent, non-profit organization with offices in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where it was founded in 1955.
World Press Photo of the Year is the world’s largest and most prestigious annual press photography contest.
Reuters Showcase is is the annual selection of the best photos by Reuters.

MSNBC Picture of the Year
MSNBC Picture of the Year is currently available online for the years 2004 and 2005. Each of the multimedia slide shows contains the best images of the year selected by MSNBC with sound from news commentators.
UNICEF Photo of the Year
The 2005 UNICEF Photo of the Year gives a face to the HIV/AIDS catastrophe in Eastern Europe. 87 of the world’s best photographers from 20 countries submitted 894 photos for this UNICEF contest.

The Picture of the Year international is an annual competition administered by the Missouri School of Journalism with additional sponsorship.
