After his last race in Brazil yesterday Formula 1 seven time world champion Michael Schumacher received a very special gift from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Dubai’s crown prince gave the retired race driver one of the about 300 islands in the archipelago of artificial islands, shaped like the continents of the Earth and called “The World” as a present. Islands in the USD 14 billion project have been sold for USD 7 – 35 millions since construction began.
Schumacher’s island has been told to be part of “Antarctica” and is only accessible by boat. In press comments Michael Schumacher has mentioned that he and his wife are planning to make the island their holiday destination.
